Let’s salute the late Ian Scott - in sorrow at his passing - and in thanks especially for his fantastic Quiver and Sprayed Stripe series. Those works in particular are such an amazing achievement.

If I make a modest cough and offer a minor footnote to Ian Scott studies.
I find it interesting that the grids appear at roughly the same time as Scott was showing with Petar Vuletic (whose preferences for geometric abstraction are well known) - before and after that Scott's oeuvre is almost entirely pretty girls and art historical references bonded together with a pop sensibility.

Ed Hanfling will probably have a take on this. It seems to me however that Scott continued to make Lattices long after he stopped showing at Vuletic's.

There is also his friendship with Killeen, as the Barrs correctly point out. http://overthenet.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/ian-scott-1945-2013.html

I'm sure that was somewhat self-aware - hence all the cheeky lattice air vent grills in the Picabia-esque "Model" paintings from 1996 onward.
