Let’s salute the late Ian Scott - in sorrow at his passing - and in thanks especially for his fantastic Quiver and Sprayed Stripe series. Those works in particular are such an amazing achievement.

If I make a modest cough and offer a minor footnote to Ian Scott studies.
I find it interesting that the grids appear at roughly the same time as Scott was showing with Petar Vuletic (whose preferences for geometric abstraction are well known) - before and after that Scott's oeuvre is almost entirely pretty girls and art historical references bonded together with a pop sensibility.

Ed Hanfling will probably have a take on this. It seems to me however that Scott continued to make Lattices long after he stopped showing at Vuletic's.

I'm sure that was somewhat self-aware - hence all the cheeky lattice air vent grills in the Picabia-esque "Model" paintings from 1996 onward.
